ROOT DAO: Multi-sig and Community Nominations

A multi-sig consisting of team & community members will mark the start of our transition to Governance by ROOT holders.

There are currently 5 addresses on the wallet controlled by team members, and transactions require 3 of 5 signatures. We are looking to add up to 6 more signers, including some community members.

To fill the spots, we are opening nominations to the community. People are free to nominate themselves and extra consideration will be given to people with a track record of participating in other governance systems.

The first vote will be to determine how many new signers we are going to add, with the options ranging from 2 to 6. This vote will use snapshot.org and begin immediately. The voting will be closed on April 20th 23:45 EST. The discussion pages can be found here, and the voting page can be found here.

During this vote people should submit the names of the people they want to nominate to be signers into the comments on the discourse post. The following votes will be for the choosing the new signers.

We expect this process to take at least a few weeks and up to a month. People can continue to nominate or suggest new signers until the timer for the last slot begins.

As we continue the transition to governance, a series of articles will be released re-iterating the details of how the ROOT system works, the effects each function has on a live system, and the goals when selecting MGE parameters.

With the community steering, the team can focus on deployment and innovation. UniswapV3 is right around the corner and we have huge plans for its release.
